Who was Jeffrey Allan Jones?
Jeffrey was a bare-chested rebel. He was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the summer of 1987 and lived a full life in the remaining 2 years until his passing in February of 1989.
What is the Jeffrey Allan Jones Memorial Scholarship?
Soon after Jeff passed, his friends decided they wanted to do something in his memory. They organized a benefit concert and raised enough funds to start the Jeffrey Allan Jones Memorial Scholarship Fund. The scholarship is given out each year to a graduating Phoenixville High School senior who plans to study college-level Journalism, Communications or English. The scholarship has been awarded every year since the first award was presented in 1991.
Is there really going to be a documentary about Jeff, the benefit concert and the scholarship?
Yes. One of Jeff’s dearest friends, Brian “Mixman” Miksis has been talking about it for a long time and really made the documentary!! He used archival footage of Jeff and the concert as well as produced new interviews of those who knew Jeff and were involved in his treatment and the concert. It was a massive undertaking and we are all very proud of it! Keep visiting this website for planned screenings and if you’d like to receive a copy as a gift for a donation to the scholarship, please visit our donations page to find out more.
Is life really fair?
Yes. Jeff said so and that is good enough for us.
